  8. Hello Hallebose, no I didn't have a good experience at Knowl View School, I doubt whether many of the children there did for that matter, but thanks for the comment.

  9. I was there till 1982, a lot of bad things happened there to me. However on the good side there where some amazing teachers. Mr Michael Cooper being one and Mr Lickfold (Science) would love to get in touch with some old school mates like Paul Thompson, Peter Harding, and a few others. My number 07561053840

    1. Hello Stephen, thanks for your comment. I left Knowl View School in 1972. There was a teacher called Derrick Cooper, but he was not a pleasant person at all as time would eventually tell. However, Mrs Cooper, his wife, was a very nice lady and she taught me to swim at Castleton Baths. Mr Turner, headmaster, I didn't much like, Mr Lowe, Deputy Head, was very nice. Thanks.

    1. Hi Stephen, no Derrick Cooper was Science teacher in that classroom where the library was. Tall bloke with blond hair. His wife, I think was Jean Cooper, they lived in one of those houses beside the driveway up to the school. He was in trouble years later with the police and the court. Yes, I can remember cross country runs into Carr Woods. Mr Mellor at that time, later Mr Thomas who I went with to Classical music concerts.

    1. Yes, Stephen it sounds like him. He could always turn nasty when pushed. He was in court at a later date for attacking children during his time at Knowl View. I think he went to live on the Isle of Man, but he was on BBC north west news.
